Dear Fellow Canadianists,
The University of Michigan's Program in the Environment (PitE) will host the Seventh Annual Meeting of the Michigan Canadian Studies Roundtable on Friday, April 15, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year's conference will be held at Samuel T. Dana Building on the northeast corner of U.M.'s famous Diag (for maps & directions click here).
The Roundtable was started in 1999 to make contacts between people in Michigan with an interest in Canada. As past participants have found, the Roundtable's relaxed structure offers rich opportunities for:
Our luncheon speaker will be Dr. Donna Erickson, a PitE Faculty Associate Professor and 2003-4 Fulbright Professor at the University of British Columbia. She will discuss "Metropolitan Green Connections: Open Space Networks in Canadian and U.S. Cities."
There will be a special session on getting your Canadian research published. Fred Bohm, Director of the Michigan State University Press and Greg Yantz of Broadview Press will discuss opportunities and strategies.
There will also be a raffle with fabulous prizes (courtesy of the Canadian Consulate General) held at the end of the day. You must be present to win!
